Kuromatsu ("Black Pine") is the work of Imoto Masao, the maker of the Dai Dogyu brand. Jay got this plane from Hida Tool back in the 70's. There's a photo of the plane along with Jay's other tools in the book "The Complete Japanese Joinery" by Hideo Sato and Yasua Nakahara, which Jay was a contributing editor.
