Bob got this plane when he first took Jay's class in Fall of 2005. This is a great first plane since it performs reasonably well and it's cheap (less than $100 as of 2006), so you can use it as a practice plane and hopefully you're not afraid to experiment with it. Like most beginners, Bob had put huge nicks in the blade, rounded the cutting edge, screwed up on the dai tuning, and so on.
