Kanna - Yoshihiro Yamamoto: Fuso ("Divine Tree")

Go back to the Kanna Gallery main page.

Yoshihiro Yamamoto's artist name is Tesshinsai Houraku - see the Tools Maker page. He is known for his line of Katsusaburo planes.

The Fuso uses the same special steel as the Suimei plane. According to Yamamoto-san's web site, the best steel resulting from the forge welding is set aside for making the Fuso, and the remains are used for the Suimei. The special steel for edge tools is more difficult to sharpen than the blude steel, but it has a more duable edge.

Size: 70mm
Steel Type: Special steel for edge tools
